So I just finished watching the whole trilogy for the first time. I had read the books years ago, but I found them boring so I remembered almost nothing. Except for the birthday party at the start. Eventually though, you just can't live any longer without watching these classics.
It took ages for me to connect with the characters while watching, but once I did? Wow like god.
Much of the time I spent half watching and half playing match three games on my ipad, but it still felt like a good use of my time. And I got really super attached to the four hobbits.
I bawled my eyes out for the entire movie from when the volcano starts erupting till the credits.
So if you haven't watched them, I recommend having a mindless game to play for the more tedious parts (especially if you're like me and don't care for action scenes). But it is absolutely worth it. The pay off at the end is great.
