Nothing spectacular, but it's enjoyable.

There has been a lot of hype surrounding SVTFOE since its intro was leaked back in August 2014. I was hyped myself as I thought the premise was pretty interesting. Also, Shipping (I regret nothing).

When the show finally premiered... it was different than I expected, but still OK. The writing seems kinda weak so far, but it has its moments and I can't really think of anything offensive or particularly bad about it; it's enjoyable, but nothing groundbreaking. The animation is very high-quality though.

What I really like about the show are the two main characters: Star and Marco have an engaging chemistry and definitely make the show work. They're your typical Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl duo but both have their quirks and both can be really funny.

There's a lot of potential here but so far, as I said, it's nothing particularly spectacular. However, I'm still really enjoying it.

I don't know what you were expecting from the show but it didn't disappoint me in the slightest. The show has great comedic timing, providing a great contrast of high school themes mixed with absurd fantasy situations. The football episode was probably one of the most hilarious things I've seen on Disney in quite a while.

"Oh, no! Everything's going according to plan!"

If you hoping for the show to be more serious, then the writers would have to tone down the number of bizarre situations and that would have cut down the humor.

As for the relationship, I could go either way. If it doesn't happen I don't mind, the dynamics between Marco and Star are great just as they are. If they hook up I prefer it to be Kim Possible where the relationship grows subtly and doesn't go beyond friendship until the show has a few seasons under its belt. I hate it when shows try to make a relationship centered around Can't Spit it Out Syndrome and I'm glad this show avoids that mine pit.
