In terms of speed writing, Yklia did something utterly insane. Over the course of 96 hours- literally- she churned out a 45,500 word story. A joke was made on the forums that she was an eldritch abomination in disguise; someone else accused her of sacrificing the souls of her readers. It is clear that she ed literally not sleeping well, possibly not sleeping at all during the course of the writing process. Near the end, she appears to have forced an early ending of the story, possibly an attempt to bring it to a close. Overall, it was a refreshingly good kick in the teeth of the "Terr uber alles" genre, where humanity did not win-or perhaps, the only winning scenario was humanity surviving as a renewable resource for theentities. The ending was received rather poorly by many of those who were following it, with more negatives than positives, although this is not to say the story had no defenders. Yklia defended the story saying she didn't betray the spirit of the story by lying about it, orr changing the ending fin what she felt it should be, but I find myself thinking that rushing it as she did at the end was at least as gray a disservice to what she was trying to do as what she decried.
