A Canterlot Wedding or Fanfiction:The Canon

This two-parter has everything an episode shouldn't have:they made two character we have never seen before the center of attention,go out of their way to tell us(you know, instead of showing us)how incredibly awesome they are and how strong and pure their love is(again,we are supposed to just take their words). If that sound like I'm descriving two Mary Sue is just because I am. Also, the villain is a total joke, but they made the BIG error to take her seriously:yes,we are supposed to be afraid of her, even though she could be the poster girl for Genre Blind and Bond Villain Stupidity. She made every error possible and the only way her plan works is because all the protagonists take the Idiot Ball(another thing I hate). The climax is so lame and lazy that make the final confrontation with Discord seems like a work of genius. This is really a dumb way to close a season(not that I think the season was any good, but still...)and feel like a bad Self Insert Fic.

I thought Fanfiction: The Canon was Magic Duel.

Why not both?

Spot-on review though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. Is the friendship and love great or what?

Interesting take on it. Those episodes bugged me a lot thanks in great part to the sudden introduction of both a brother and another princess. I knew the whole thing felt badly done, but I never thought on making a connection with an ISO standard bad fanfiction before reading this.

I have to say, when you ignore that this is supposed to be canon, the glaring introduction of those two powerful characters that have never been hinted at before and now suddenly are important becomes much more apparent and, should I say it, ridiculous.

Eh, I kinda have to disagree with this whole thing. They did show us how powerful their love was by showing they had the power to blast the changelings out. Also, if Shining was a Mary Sue, then he wouldn't have lashed out at Twilight and been proven wrong, nor would he have made such a horrible judgement of Chrysalis' character. Also, Cadance was not really over powered, needing to be rescued by Twilight, and then having to be released from Chrysalis' goo. That doesn't sound like a Mary Sue to me, and if you call them Mary Sue's, then you have to call Twilight (Very intelligent, never really truly punished, the voice of reason, powerful as all hell), Fluttershy (Very "pure", easily forgiven, has a "stare" power, could out-troll Discord), or Rainbow Dash (Only one to perform a Sonic Rainboom, easily forgiven for assholish behavior, technicolored hair) Sues as well. They're all kinda Sueish, but that doesn't make them Sues. How were they all being idiots? The Mane Six sans Twilight had no reason to assume Chrysalis was evil, just being a bitch, which is what a lot of stressed brides do. Twilight has been shown before to be close minded, so they could easily assume that's what was happening, and Twilight has shown to be paranoid, and when paranoia strikes, she doesn't think straight, rushing in and accusing Deceptive!Cadance of being evil. Chrysalis made some mistakes, but she wasn't that stupid. She managed to keep Cadance down, and made sure to get rid of Twilight when she was found out. Judging by the fact Chrysalis taunts Twilight, it looks like she was expecting Twilight to kill Cadance. Also, about her assuming Cadance's claim that her love would give Shining Armor strength was ridiculous, it really isn't that bad of an assumption, considering ponies don't feed off love like changelings. It's like Applejack saying she'll use magic to save somepony.

I'm actually kind of glad to see I'm not the only one who saw serious flaws in this finale. Also, did anyone else think that Cadence using her love spell on two unconsenting ponies was mind control? This whole thing felt incredibly lazy, and it's really surprising considering what show it came from.

I'm a geek.

This show is old as hell, but I will admit I used to like the show before this two-parter. Now I hate nearly all the characters and have lost all love or interest in it.

Blow me up!
