- Some of Kamala's reactions to Carol seem to go a bit beyond fan worship. For a start, the fanfiction she's writing makes a point that Carol needs to carry her in her arms since Ms Marvel can't fly. Then there is the way she says "Oh Captain, my Captain!", which could be interpreted as romantic. **Borders into Squick when you remember that Kamala is 16 and Carol is in her late sixties.**

I agree on my viewing of the movie that there are elements of a teenage crush in Kamala's worship of Captain Marvel. I would argue that it is more the case that that Kamala does not know how to process the intensity of her feelings for Carol, rather than that it being a straightforward case of physical attraction.

I know this is YMMV, but I think 'squick' is a silly reaction to a teenager having intense feelings of devotion and admiration to an older figure of hero worship. I also don't see how Carol's paper age being in her 60s is relevant at all; Brie Larson's IRL age is 34yo, a sexual relationship with a 16 year old is no more appropriate for a 34 year old than a 64 year old. There's no suggestion at ALL in the film that Carol reciprocates any sexual attraction Kamala experiences. Teenagers have big feelings, that's just the reality of growing up; Carol appears to be able to process and respond appropriately and platonically, consistent with her status as an older and more mature mentor to Kamala.

Honestly, just let the kid have her queer-adjacent feelings!
