Contested Sequel: Fury Road is seen by some vocal fans of the franchise as an attempt to downsize Max's role in order to fit in a feminist agenda (as the director did hire a noted feminist to influence/alter the film prior to it's debut). It doesn't help that the men, except for Max, are evil, and the women are good or, at worst, neutral.
