Is that why she had to make an end-run around the Mayor, Blunt felt he had to kill (or at least disable) her because she couldn't convince him to help prevent the lobotomization of Bowman AI robots, and she got dumped into the ocean when trying to rescue Kornada? Yes, she makes friends pretty easily, but that's a) not universal (see above), and b) is a generally friendly person without an abrasive personality.
As for the strip being "constantly on her side", she's the main protagonist of the work, the story being on her side is kind of a given... and also not even "constantly" as claimed, or else there would be no conflict to move the story along.
