- Unfortunate Implications:
- Suffered a traumatic experience in your childhood? Sorry, you're absolutely doomed to become an emotionless psychopathic serial killer. The show always makes a point of equating psychopaths and sociopaths with "monsters" and pure, undiluted evil, ignoring the fact that people do not choose to be psychopathic or sociopathic, and many people who are can live perfectly fulfilling lives without committing a single grisly murder.
- While avoiding any outright racist statements, in the first few episodes of Season 5, Debra makes a few less than pleasant remarks about Spanish-speaking Americans.
- The handling of religious believers in Season 6 also got a lot of criticism.
Unfortunate Implications was retooled beyond personal concerns and requires a citation, please provide a source for the criticism before readding examples.
Pulled this from Harsher in Hindsight
Because I have no idea what it's saying, honestly. I'm guessing it's trying to tie Dexter's taking the law into his own hands with Zimmerman, but that's a tenuous connection at best. And the first point ("his noticeably greater efficiency at catching killers when compared to Miami PD") doesn't even make sense taking that in mind.
Is it really just "someone was killed in Florida"?
