So this got bumped from the Film namespace to the Western Animation filmspace... this raises an interesting question in this day and age when a show can be made in multiple countries at once. In this case, an animated film produced and directed in Japan, and released in Japan first, but with Western voice actors based on an American sci-fi novel. What is that? Anime? Western Animation? Something new and different?

If it becomes popular enough it'll probably become a completely new sub-genre, Mad House for example is doing this a lot lately, but until then I guess we tend to focus on where the franchise itself came from.
