This whole index seems overly judgmental.

Some of these tropes aren't overused, because they're actually very rare. Like "Death from old age turns out to be due to some simple, single cause, leading to an easy immortality treatment, with consequent catastrophic social implications." How many times have you seen that?

Some are so classic they might be considered a kind of genre in themselves. Like "The rag-tag rebel army/fleet struggles valiantly to overthrow the Evil Empire." You might as well call "murder mystery" an overused cliché, or maybe "love story".

Some of these tropes don't fit simply because they're good storytelling tropes, or they just make sense. "In the future, government corruption has been eradicated." has pretty much come true for some countries already, from the viewpoint of someone who lived only a couple of hundred years ago. "Immortals who assume many identities over the course of human history." is still used because it's cool, and a natural consequence of the existence of immortals.

Tropes are not bad. Tropes that are used many times are not overused unless they're overly specific or used badly. This whole index seems snobbish and unnecessarily negative.
