I've noticed two things about Charlie Brown and sports that could be worth mentioning somewhere.
1. An older (60s?) strip showed Charlie Brown to be scarily good at Football; successfully knocking aside every other character in the strip (including LUCY) and only being stopped when Snoopy (the goalie) tackled him. So much for Charlie Brown being a failure at everything...
2. Has anyone else noticed that Charlie Brown's baseball team becomes competent whenever one of their number gets replaced? Charlie Brown leaves for camp or to travel, and the team begins winning every match. Lucy gets cut from the team, and they come closer to winning than ever before. Perhaps it's less a lack of skill and more that conflicting personalities (Charlie Brown vs Lucy, for instance) mean they don't work well together?
