Hmmm, good question. I don't think Ship Tease fits, but maybe Official Couple... unless there's something better among the Visual Novel / Multiple Endings tropes for when one route or love interest is "more canon" than the others.
I will go look!
Edited by 75.65.158.18Please do. Official Couple requires that they actually do enter a relationship, which is why I wasn't comfortable going ahead with it.
Hm... there's Story Branch Favoritism. I don't know if I'd call Ichigo's route "better developed" than the others, but it might be close enough to count?
Oh, Designated Love Interest? EDIT: no, now that I read the article that doesn't work either.
Edited by 75.65.158.18Agreed, I don't think the game itself shows any kind of preference. It's more an in-universe expectation than anything else. "He picked on her as a kid, and she still followed him around — OF COURSE they'll fall in love when they're older" kinda thing.
Just pin these musings here, and keep it in mind if/when we find something more appropriate?
Coming back to this... I wonder if it might not just fall under Genre Savvy, actually.
Good point. I hadn't thought of Genre Savvy as an in-universe thing, but it's a pretty good fit now that I think of it.
Seeking opinion here: On Ichigo's route, absolutely no one is surprised that he and the protagonist end up together. In fact, they were expecting it. In Haruki's and Ryuzo's routes (released earlier), people express varying degrees of surprise that the protagonist didn't end up with Ichigo.
Would this make them some kind of in-universe Official Couple/Ship Tease kinda thing, d'you think?
