If The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords counts as a main series game, then Tri Force Heroes should count too.
Edited by ChytusVery little about the game has been revealed so far, but what is known is shaping to be a main series game. If Word of God comes out to say that it isn't canon with the other games, then it's a spin-off like Link's Crossbow Training or Hyrule Warriors.
Fair enough... but the plot seems... largely irrelevant. Don't get me wrong, it looks enjoyable, but from what we've seen, it has even less to do with the rest of the series than Link's Awakening.

That's usually how reveal trailers go for these kinds of games. They cover the gameplay (the multiplayer and costume mechanics) over the actual plot, which will probably be revealed later on. Also other multiplayer Zelda games tend to be lighter on story then the standard games.
Yeah, you're right. I guess I'll just bide my time.. And even if it doesn't do well, we still have Zelda U to look forward to.

Why is this game being talked about like it's one of the main franchise games? Surely it's but a spin-off, right? ...right?
