Well it has been a few months with no objecting/agreeing, I guess that means I get to do something about this.
It's been a few years but I think this needs to be applied to all the Samurai Warriors pages for consistency.
I'll just wait for others to pipe in their opinions.
Edited by BobonofaThis not only applies in Samurai Warriors but in other works set in the pre-Meiji era (e.g. Sengoku Basara, Total War: Shogun) or have pre-Meiji era characters (e.g. Fate/Grand Order). If you also noticed, the Sengoku Period still uses the Last Name-First Name order. If you still have troubles with this, you can go to the Ask The Tropers.
I'm pretty sure that the actual English translation (Such as Nobunaga Oda was written as that in all the Samurai Warriors games that were translated into English) has priority over the traditional way of writing names about pre-Meiji era folks (like Oda Nobunaga), but I could be wrong.
Either way, I'll take it Ask The Tropers, then.
Also, could you help out in the Characters pages, there's a whole lot of Engrish that was clearly written by people who need to learn more about english grammar.
Edited by BobonofaAccording to Ask The Tropers we're supposed to use the localized names for this game which would be First/Last name.
Any objections before I change all of the names to Western order?
Edited by BobonofaGo for it if that's the case. The note about the name order on top of the character page should be revised or removed.
I'm predicting that with Samurai Warriors 5 being a reboot, there will be a lot of very different characterization towards even the old cast. So... does anyone think that the Character tropes of returning characters (Nobunaga, Noh, Mitsuhide, etc) should be put on their default character pages or we're gonna put them in the upcoming SW 5 character pages?
Given that it's going to be a total reboot, I guess we could make a new character page for the SW 5 characters just like how the Soulcalibur VI characters pages were done. Of course, we need more information on who are the rest of the cast.
And may I suggest making a separate main page for SW 5 as well? Though we need to follow the guidelines on upcoming works so that the mods would not cut it.
Someone made a separate page for the SW 5 characters including the old ones. I only fix the format and added the new characters' voice actors but no tropes yet.
So, how are we writing the Japanese names? Since, I see a "Sanada Yukimura" and a "Naomasa Ii" and I don't know which one to change. I'm inclined to change "Sanda Yukimura" to "Yukimura Sanada", since the localization of the name is first name, than last.
