I just want to point out that the entire Trails in the Sky series along with Trails of Zero are exported to China and are translated to Chinese. I see there is mention of exporting to NA but not for China so maybe someone can add this in.
Zero No Kiseki page has been added by narukamikun, but since Sora no Kiseki page is called Legend Of Heroes VI, isn't it better if we name it Legend Of Heroes VII?
Edited by BlackDestiny Hide / Show RepliesThat's half the trick for the above discussion, though: ZnK hasn't been given an official LoH number. (The packaging only says "Legend of Heroes" in tiny letters without giving a number.) The Trails series really is supplanting the franchise it grew out of.
But, at the end of The Third it says "to be continued...Legend Of Hetoes VII", right? So Zero no Kiseki isn't Legend Of Heroes VII?
I'm 90% sure it doesn't list itself as LoH VII. It still carries the branding but it's almost an appendage at this point.
Falcom has said themselves on their twitter that it is Lo H VII and the original 'secret materials' artbook that was released with the Japanese version of Ys Seven calls it 'Legend of Heroes VII' as well.
Something that occurred to me just today: might it be wise to split this page into game-specific pages (ala Final Fantasy) and use the "main" page for pan-franchise tropes? That way people could edit this article without tumbling on Renne or Weissman spoilers by accident.
Edited by SpaceDrake Hide / Show RepliesI don't think it's a good idea, Final Fantasy series got their own pages because they all unrelated to each other, heck even 10 and 10-2 is put into the same page; in the other hand, Trails In The Sky is a trilogy that covers each story, just look at Dot Hack series they aren't separated with Infection, Mutation, Outbreak and Quarantine right?
By the by, I'm a little bit fuzzy on a specific portion of Joshua's past, and I suppose it's best to clear it up now. So, for clarity: did Joshua actively kill his sister, or does he just feel responsible for it? And if the latter, exactly how did Weissman manipulate him, then? I was led to believe the former, but I've seen a fair number of comments now stating this to be in error.
It'll all be perfectly cleared up in about two weeks or so, but it's always a good idea to sort this sort of thing out ahead of time. :V
Edited by SpaceDrake Hide / Show RepliesHe didn't kill her, it's something like:
When Joshua and his sister ran away from the army(forgot what army) they were heldd by a soldier, the soldier tried to rape Karin but Joshua took his gun and shoot the soldier, but the soldier still alive and with his last strength took a knife and tries to stab Joshua but Karin protects him and died in process. As the result Joshua broke his heart and lost his emotions, Loewe takes care of him for some time but later he met Weissman that promises to save him, which he did but Weissman also turns him into a killing machine. Someday, he was given an order to kill Cassius, he failed and because his face has been seen the Weissman decided to kill Joshua but Cassius saved him and Joshua become his son (later it becomes clear this was all Weissman plan all along). I still don't get how come Joshua lost him memories and putted a spell to become a secret mole for the Ouroboros to leak informations from Bracer's Guild by Weissman, the only logical explanation is during his stay in the Bright Weissman put the spell on him.
Excellent, over the next day or two I'll fix up the page then. Thanks for clarifying that.
I added a Character page. I hope that's okay with everyone?
Hide / Show RepliesNaturally; I was going to hold off until the game came out in the States and we had a flood of new tropers adding stuff, but it's probably best to get that going now. :V
Stay mindful of spoilers on that page, of course.
New topic for discussion: with the first English Trails release coming up, should we remove the link to the HG 101 article? Because holy crap, I've realized that thing just casually drops some ATOMIC spoilers without so much as a warning, particularly in regards to Renne. XSEED's release is hopefully going to bring in a lot of new players, so we should be careful about this sort of thing.
I'm going to mark it as spoilery right now, but I think it'd be a good idea to just remove the link straight up. Any objections?
Hide / Show RepliesIf you want to remove the link then i think you should also replace that introduction taken from that article, we don't want to be accused stealing someone's credit.
Well, naturally. I just wanted to see if there was any objection to removing the link on principle.
If there isn't, I'll get around to redoing the intro some time this weekend.
So, given that the "Trails/Kiseki" "franchise" is apparently getting another Kiseki-branded game, should this perhaps be moved to a dedicated Trails In The Sky page? The series seems to be transcending its Legend of Heroes roots at this point.
Agree? Disagree?
Hide / Show RepliesIt's more that people will mostly be looking for Trails in the Sky, though (since that's what is in big letters on the box), and Falcom seems to be going in a direction of making the "Trails" games their own franchise.
Either way works, I guess, but I can't shake the feeling that the game's "outgrown" the Lo H name, especially with Falcom working on a fifth "Trails" game now.
I randomly wanted to point out that on the characters page regarding Kevin, I don't think the trope Abusive Parents is fitting, considering what had happened with him and his mother. It was a one-off incident, and while it was one heck of a one-off incident, there was no signs of abuse prior to it. She was depressed, intended to commit suicide, and couldn't stand being without her son.
The trope currently in place appears to be for continuous signs of abuse. Kevin seemingly had a happy childhood for the most part, until that devastating moment.
I'm not as adept with the tropes, but wouldn't his situation be more like the mentioned subversion of Self-Made Orphan?
