So the most recent Warriors Den Livestream (as of this post 1-18-18) included a ton of info on the game's lore and world. Which could make for a lot of rewrites and new trope additions.
For starters, the game actually takes place on an alternate version of earth where a global catastrophe struck around 1100 AD, and destroyed civilization. Leaving everyone stuck in medieval stasis. The Samurai are officially stated to be from Japan, which sunk into the ocean.
Removed from main page, as there is a cleanup effort on one of the pages linked here underway and I am not sure what to do with this entry:
