I was thinking the same. I'd probably put him under disappointing since the page leans more towards head coaching records, but he fits in either one, since you'll be mentioning the good and bad either way.
The recent database overhaul has reduced the recommended page length. It makes most sense to just split the alphabet for this page, but I'd personally refrain from doing that until we can determine the ultimate fate of the "Notorious" pages; then we can figure out if there's a better home for the "Disappointments" section.
Hide / Show RepliesAs I said on the Discussion there, a true "Notorious" page makes sense for law/rule breakers. The "disappointments" here could potentially be merged back with a busts/player disappointments, but would need to check the length.
Looks like the site has reverted to the old page length standard, not getting the alert anymore. Glad we weren't too hasty. We'll return to this if the issue returns.
Not sure yet if it will be here or under "Disappointments", but Dan Campbell is going to be an interesting one to write up somewhere after another season of two. Some of these quotes are just...wow.
Edited by BeerBaron Hide / Show RepliesSo... Gruden. He won a Super Bowl and has been active in NFL media for decades, so I can see the argument for keeping him here, but I think him being fired due to just how bad his emails were should probably land him on Notorious. Thoughts?
Edited by Claystripe Hide / Show RepliesI agree with notorious on emails alone and he could be added for the controversy surrounding his Super Bowl title and his teams flamed out every year as the talent Tony Dungy assembled left in free agency or retired. Plus, his return to the Raiders has been a disappointment with no playoff berths.
Plus, his current season imploded rather quickly, as the Raiders have lost two straight to a flaming hot Chargers team and a rather mediocre Bears squad, getting manhandled in both matchups after a hot start.
Edited by wesker56Really thinking that McDaniels should go to the Disappointments page. There are other great coordinators there who failed out as head coaches. His running Denver into the ground and bailing on Indy more than qualify him IMO. Heck, he's borderline notorious.
Hide / Show RepliesI think he is more notorious than a disappointment. Spurning Indy like he did clinches it in my opinion, when coupled with the accusations of him videotaping opponents during his tenure in Denver. Plus, he has never had any success when he isn't paired with Brady.
Thoughts on reordering the Commissioner folder to go chronologically rather than alphabetically?
Hide / Show RepliesSounds good to me. I'd put the years ahead of their names in that case.
What's the thought process for the ordering of the folders? If its order of importance/recognition, would Broadcasters/Producers be better placed last?
Hide / Show RepliesI don't know that there was a thought process on that. It's just where they were way back when it was all on the same page.
Been kicking around the idea of adding Steve Spagnuolo for his accomplishments as a coordinator (he now has the record for Super Bowl wins by a coordinator with four) but am torn on where to put him. He was horrible in his head coaching stints, having the third worst winning percentage all-time in that role. However, we have Jim Johnson and Monte Kiffin under the regular "coaches" list for their accomplishments as coordinators.
Thoughts?
