I'd like to ask whether we could replace the current image with this one:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/memling_christ_blessing_6.jpg

For one, I think it looks better and less glurge-y than the current one in its minimalist, almost expressionist simplicity where the dark clothes, hair, and background all almost blend into one another to focus the view on the essentials of the portrait (this would look even better at wiki size, I think) - it kind of draws one in, which is very beautiful.

For another, I'd later wanted to suggest a replacement pic for "What measure is a non-cute" (that one; though I'm putting asking about a new pic - or any other action - there on hold until this one is answered here) - which pic in the other thread would almost be a double image of the picture currently here; and as there was a discussion lately on the Four Gospels' page about generally not wanting double pics where they could be avoided concerning this exact image...

This is a link to the image links for this page (to which I've added a few more): https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ImageLinks/Jesus

... and if anyone more tech-savvy than me could turn this post into a "real" image pickin' thread, I'd be very much obliged :D

Okay, I've just read that memes are right out as images anyway - and as the other image for the other trope would then no longer qualify, the whole point is moot as there'd be no double image in the first place.

Sorry, everyone!

Just a heads-up, if you want to suggest a new image for a page that already has an image, you need to make a thread in the Image Picking Forum.

Let's just say and leave it at that.

I understand that tvtropes is not an encyclopedia per se, and thus things like factual accuracy and avoiding bias are not a high priority. However, I would still posit that making a strong claim like "Jesus' existence has been historically confirmed" is unfounded, and seems to be pushing a religious agenda unfitting of a website like this. That claim just has a really strong feeling of having been added by a Christian for the explicit purpose of pushing such an agenda, sneaking it into a website like tvtropes where it doesn't really belong. (Note that the Wikipedia page linked in the claim does not claim that Jesus's existence is historically confirmed. That Wikipedia page only lists the earliest sources where the story of Jesus is mentioned. Note that the two earliest non-biblical sources listed are Josephus and Tacitus. Both of these people were born after Jesus's (alleged) death, so they were hardly contemporaneous eyewitnesses or even historians. They weren't even born when the alleged events happened. In their writings they were simply recounting what Christians of the time believed. Their writings are hardly a historical proof that Jesus actually existed; they are only proof that Christians, with their beliefs, existed in the first century, but that's it.)
