I wonder if maybe every conference should be divided into its own useful notes page.

The page will have to be divided eventually. Not sure if every conference gets its own page or if whatever is the longest goes off. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Oop! So it does...

Later today I'll sit down and do character counts for each section. There is still room for a lot of additions in the SEC and Big Ten, so it may be prudent to give each Power 5 its own page. How do we want to title it? SEC College Football? SEC College Football Teams? Might want to wait to get some further feedback.

Note: Removed some potholes and did some trimming, it's under the limit for now... but that will certainly change in a day. Still, gives us a little bit of wiggle room to find a solution that has more of a consensus.

However is best. I was thinking of adding Rice, but since they are changing conferences in a couple of years, that is best to wait for what was once a regional powerhouse in the state of Texas and one of the unlikeliest stadiums to host the Super Bowl.

Adding Rice would definitely send us back over, so I would ask that we hold on that until we split.

I'm a little surprised that the editor is saying we're over the length limit; we're around 340,000 characters, and I thought that the pages could handle closer to 380,000. Either way, we'll be getting over that limit real soon.

The Power 5 folders are currently around 190,000 characters. Of those folders, only the ACC and Big 12 are really "complete", and there's a lot that can/likely will be added to the Big 10 and SEC especially. Still, it's entirely possible that we could fit all five Power 5 conferences into one page, which would be much easier to navigate, and I think we should probably go for that route and leave the independents, Group of Five, and FCS here.

I'll wait until tomorrow to make new pages. Still waiting to hear back from frequent editors on what they think.

A Power 5 and "the rest" split makes the most sense to me as well. Don't want to create additional unnecessary pages if two gets it done.

I think Power 5 and Group of 5 works for now. We'll see in the future what happens as the Big 10 and SEC will continue to exhibit their dominance in the coming years with Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Michigan St, and Ohio St all looking like forces to be reckoned with

I think adding the website url to every single school doesn't fit with the rest of the information on the page, adds length to a page that's already nearing capacity, and just isn't necessary considering it's the first thing that comes up on Google. If no one else is in favor of keeping it, I think I'm going to remove them tomorrow.

It might not be the best time to do a major rework of this page, considering that the conferences could be majorly realigned as early as next year, but I've been thinking for awhile about reshaping this page to make it a little cleaner and give some of the bigger schools a little more shine. I'm picturing giving each FBS conference its own folder, within which the individual conference programs can get the same amount of description that the independent schools are currently afforded.

It's a big project with 130 schools, and I pay far less attention to the college level than the pros. I hope to learn a lot in working on it, but if anyone has any ideas or feedback, please let me know.

Thanks for all of your help on the rebuild! Question; would be ok to axe some of the AAC entries (East Carolina, Memphis, South Florida, Temple, Tulsa)? We could maybe revisit them later once the bigger programs have gotten their shine, but I think we could save some space for the time being.
