Xanatos Gambit does cover more complex plans, but the trope at its core is "all possible outcomes lead to success" so this does qualify.

I vote for its removal for shoehorning and watering down of the trope. Some people want to label everything as a Xanatos Gambit, when this really is more Reflexive Response.

That seems fairly watery to me. It doesn't sound like a "gambit" to me.

If anything, most of the misuse is people knowing it means "complex plan" but missing out the bit about it being win-win. However, I do think a good example should have both aspects, and this isn't really a "plan", it's just "firing arrows at people's faces is bound to inconvenience them one way or another".
I've removed this from the Xanatos Gambit entry:
I don't see it fitting in Xanatos Gambit. The trope cover much more complex plans than this very simple situation. It looks extremely shoehorned to me, even considering Tropes Are Flexible.
For the record, the example had already been moved to Reflexive Response.
