I had the situation with the soldier go even worse. After a night where one of my survivors had managed to get the drop on two snipers and kill them with a knife, I had a rifle with three bullets and was feeling rather cocky. I burst into the room, and fired all three bullets. They all hit, badly wounding the soldier, but he then turned around. He killed my survivor with one shot Just to rub salt in the wound, when another one of my survivors went back there a few days later, he met someone who had been a friend of the woman. It was then that I learned that the soldier had either killed the woman or raped her anyway.
I had a moment when I attacked the soldier with a shovel, blindsiding him and sending him reeling, leaving him with a small amount of health. At which point he began begging for his life, I hesitated for a second before I clicked the mouse button and beat him to death.
I had another moment that pulled on his heartstrings. Only one survivor left who was terminally ill. I was out of medicine, yet he was too sick to leave the shelter to look for medicine. All I could do was wait for the inevitable.
