Every time I watch the end cinematics and Hatter says, "I'd like to forget what you did. I've tried. But I can't," and Caterpillar closes on, "Your own pain mitigates your failure to act earlier, but you may not yet have paid enough for witnessing the pain of others," as it shows Alice staring blankly as her fellow orphans are being converted into (to use her own words) 'breeding livestock', I definitely feel some tears being jerked. Likewise when Cheshire Cat tells her they can't go home again at the end, even though the ending is ultimately more sweet than bitter.
