Does Daphne really have a personal trainer? I thought it was clear that she referred to her son, specifically when she showed her son's picture, and when Harper told her so she just said "Oops I guess we will we find it later". Then she tells Harper "to get a trainer", which I interpreted as her having a child - someone who can make her happy and less lonely when Ethan is not there.

I thought this was obvious, but there are so many mentions of her "personal trainer" on this page, and implications that he is Daphne's secret boyfriend, or perhaps the father of her children, and I'm just confused.

If there **is** a trainer, then I just don't understand the her-showing-her-son-instead-of-him thing...

Chiming in as the person who initially added the Chocolate Baby entry.

FWIW, my initial interpretation of the photo scene split the difference: the trainer is real and she is having an affair with him, but I thought that by showing the kid's photo she was saying "I've got a good thing going here with my side piece and kids, don't mess it up", not that she was deliberately cuckolding him. Having been following the discourse, I believe that interpretation gained more traction after the finale scene where Cam puts on a happy face to call said kid. (Note also that Daphne, if not outright unfaithful — see Did They or Didn't They? re: Ethan — is openly lustful as revenge (see how she talks about the masseuse)).

So I think this 1+1+1=3 is valid enough to stay on the page (ie not just a random fandom theory). Theo James has also discussed it:

Cameron has that big fuck you line in that dinner scene where he says, “And Harper, it has been fantastic to finally get to know you properly.”

God, he’s so smug. But in the end, he does have a level of comeuppance. Who knows what happened with his wife and Ethan? Some may think Cameron wouldn’t give a shit but I think he would. And also: there’s this lingering question of his own children, and whether one of them is potentially not his—which is fucking messed up! There’s a question of how much he knows about it, and what role it plays in their relationship.

That is presented pretty subtly—that one of Cameron’s children looks nothing like him and more closely resembles Daphne’s trainer Lawrence, who has blond hair and blue eyes.

It’s gently touched upon—the suggestion that perhaps the coloring of the second child is completely different from Cameron’s and identical to that of the trainer. I mean, that would be a massive power move from Daphne and very damaging also for those poor children. [Laughs]

To err on the right side of Implied Trope, Speculative Troping etc though, the examples should not be treating it as a sure thing (recommending to use wording like "Daphne implies...").
