About the "Lux" episode, before you add any tropes on it, please watch the full episode & read actual news reports AFTER the episode aired, not just the clips on You Tube or non-existent/broken links on Facebook (facebook pages are proof of nothing, folks). We watched the ep, as we have a cat exhibiting similar symptoms as Lux (though not to that extreme) & are looking for answers — the original owners were never accused of abuse or neglect, either by Jackson or the vets examining Lux. The baby had pulled Lux's tail, but only because the mother's attention was diverted — she normally would not allow the child near the cat due to Lux's violent episodes. The husband does admit to kicking at the cat, but only once, out of anger that Lux hurt his baby and to get the cat away from the child. He told Jackson that his kick barely touched the cat, and Jackson understood — Jackson hates abuse, but he also understood that the cat had just attacked the man's baby! Again, the cat exhibited no signs of abuse or neglect to either Jackson or the vet.
Also, post-ep news reports state that Lux had to be re-homed again, as Lux also continued to attack the foster family — Lux's condition worsened, beyond the foster family's ability to handle & they feared for their safety, too. The foster family had successfully fostered many, many other cats, mind. Lux spent time in an animal hospital, was put on new meds, & his new family reports that the new meds are working & Lux's condition is finally under control.
Tropes are tropes, but actually watch the ep & trope what happened, not what makes a good story, eh? There's no reports at all about the original family trying to get Lux back — they feared for their kid's safety, remember — and nothing about "abuse or neglect". Lux had just attacked a baby; a man acting out of fear & anger for his child's safety is not "abuse".
