I have a couple of issues with the Animorphs example. For one, I don't think you should link to audience reactions under character names (Melissa and Alloran) on an objective trope, and for two, the fact that Rachel and Aldrea both have younger siblings who aren't important kind of goes against this trope. I get that it's a Trope in Aggregate, but some of the examples read like "only children exist, except when they don't" (like the Harry Potter one).

Also:

Applejack comes from a rather large family and thus has numerous siblings—but the ones we see (and hear about) the most are her older brother, Big Macintosh, and her younger sister, Apple Bloom.
I thought most of Applejack's relatives were cousins.

Yeah, I haven’t cleaned out the examples yet. I’ll make sure to do that soon
