Why are negative things on YMMV pages a bad thing? Its called YMMV for a reason.
Maybe there's something I'm not understanding where there's a line being crossed. But I'm coming here from the Cuties page and everything in the YMMV tab seems perfectly informative of a controversy that actually exists, and honestly seems pretty fair about the whole thing. Maybe its already been fixed?
Hide / Show RepliesUnfortunately, YMMV pages can sometimes be prone to complaining.

A less experienced and frankly dumber version of me from 2021 wrote a large number of these—if you feel that they don’t fit, just remove them.

That's a bit misleading. YMMV is not for opinions, it's for documenting opinions that others have.
"negative things on YMMV pages a bad thing?"
They're not, we have plenty of negative items for YMMV. Not being written in calm tone is bad.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIt's essentially the difference between an entry that reads:
"People reacted negatively to this moment for coming off as insensitive."
And one that reads:
"Everyone hated this moment since the writers thought this insensitive stuff was ok to include."
Take a wild guess which one is bad and this Sandbox is dedicated to removing.
<(0_0<) <(0_0)> (>0_0)> KIRBY DANCEWhat ^ and ^^ said too. Of note is that the Cuties entry was not added by me—I think the troper who added that one (back when this sandbox was called Infamous And Controversial Works—which they also originally created with the Cuties entry in place) quit the site.

Have corrected the entry on Raine Dog, which misrepresented the controversial content in the comic. The old description said that the comic contained "a bestiality scene involving an underage boy."
That is what the complainers claim; the actual event was a romantic kiss, with no further sexual activity, between a boy and a Talking Animal dog who had been shown to have human-level intelligence throughout the comic. Controversial, sure. Squicky? Maybe. But let's be clear about what actually happened in the work.
