... I'd say Darth Maul and the Clone Troopers really weren't anywhere close enough to Scrappyness to be on this page.

Maul, if anything, was one of the things relatively universally liked about TPM even if he was flat. And the Clone Troopers were basically more competent Stormtroopers, who were already half of the reason Star Wars is the Trope Namer for Rooting for the Empire.
