Apparently I can't edit (clicking "edit page" invariably returns me to tvtropes home page), but Gareth is never discussing KILL counts with his colleagues. He asks what their SHOT COUNTS were during the ROUNDUP (where the Termians rounded up Rick Carl Daryl Michonne). He then asks a henchmen to go count shells later...number of shells = shots fired at Rick's group, no kills.
