A kid is having a crisis of faith, all "God is evil because he killed my mom" and she tries to convert him to Buddhism - not because it would help him get answers or something like that, but because of her own ego.
Maybe, but is she actually hurting anybody? Was this even meant to be taken seriously?
Edited by BrianKTTodd was already depressed and upset and he gets more upset when that happens. If we take the scene at the credits at face value it really is for the sake of her ego and even paints Buddhists as a whole as vile to some degree (Buddha himself berates her for failing).
Still, I think the whole Moral Event Horizon entry on the subject of this episode is a bit too harsh. Was it intentional? Has it made the characters in question irredeemable?

About the Hypocrite entry, when Lisa gave Todd a thumbs up for rejecting his faith in God, isn’t it likely that the God in question and Buddha are two different entities?
