Threw this out:

  • Batman Gambit:
    • The reason Ruby was allowed to find Mercury was so that she would be away from the stands so she couldn't interfere with the Penny vs Pyrrha fight.
    • On a related note, Mercury only needed to be out of the public eye for a couple days, since the point was just to amp up the tension and set the stage for Pyrrha dismembering Penny. Now that Cinder's plan has kicked off, it doesn't matter if anyone finds out Yang is innocent.
The criterium for Batman Gambit is that ir requires someone to do what you expect him to do. This is simply not it. Ruby's actions did not factor into Cinder's plan at all, on the contrary, had she not been stoped from doing what she planned to do she might've interfered with the plan, in no way she was Unwitting Pawn. Mercury's inaction was important for Cinder but since he was her subordinate she simply ordered him to, he didn't react on his own as she would expect. If giving orders was enough for plan to be considered Batman Gambit then every plan involving more than one person would be Batman Gambit.

1: Ruby was expected to go investigate Emerald apparently leaving the stadium (which she did), thus getting her out of the way at a pivotal moment.

2: Mercury wasn't the one acting as expected (he was, as noted, simply ordered), it was everyone else. It's more a Batman Gambit in hindsight; the entire world freaks out over his injury and disqualifies Team RWBY, but now the gambit is over and it doesn't matter.

1. Except she didn't. After whe went past Mercury she was at the arena, exacly where she was going to go. Keep in mind, Arena and stands were seperated by a forcefield, Ruby couldn't symply fly in, that's why she had taken this route. What's more If she didn't go there Cinder's plan wouldn't have changed at all. Had Ruby ceased to exist 5 hours before Pv P fight would it screw up Cinder's plan? Of course not. Cinder in no way relied on Ruby.

2. I still don't think it qualifies. The audience didn't actually do anything that moved Cinder's plan forwards, they were just pissed off. It could be considered Batman Gambit on Yang's part since it required her to attack back, rather than limit herself to defence but either way it was gambit that was played 3 eps ago, not now.

First off, please slow down and watch your grammar and spelling. I can barely understand you.

1: Ruby is one of the few people who knows both Pyrhha's Semblance and Penny's nature (maybe the only one), so she'd try and stop the match. Maybe if she had stayed in the stands she would have just jumped up and down like an idiot trying to get their attention and wouldn't have actually made a difference, but Cinder wanted assurances, so she got her out of the way.

2: The audience's reaction was the entire point of Cinder's plan. They freak out (drawing the Grimm closer), and start questioning Ozpin. Next time one of Ozpin's students dismembers someone, they believe it because they've already seen it once before.

Well, i see your point about the audience, it could be considered Batman Gambit on the audience, so if you word it that way i have no objections on that part. Ruby however is still out of question for several reasons.

1)Cinder had no way of knowing that Ruby knew about Penny. Mercury could have figured it out from her reaction to this, but that was when plan was already set in motion.

2) Even if Cinder knew that Ruby knew, if Ruby could have done something from the stands all she needed to do was just turn back. Mercury had hard time stopping her from getting past him, stoping her from turning back would be impossible. How exacly Ruby facing Mercury would help Cinder if all Cinder wanted is to keep her away from the stand?
