so i just discovered that Eugene Cordero is credited as "Hunter K-5E" in the episode, instead of Casey. basically means that after Kang reset the entire TVA, Casey somehow turned from a bumbling desk guy into a hunter.

what trope should this fall under?

Should we consider Sylvie the Final Boss of the season? She was the first antagonist and in a way, closes the story by fighting Loki.

ehhhhhhhhhhh, i don't know. i mean, she actually befriended Loki and genuinely grew affection for him, and her clashing with Loki is less "ha ha she's a villain all along" thing and more her disagreeing with Loki on what to do now that they've met the true founder of the TVA

I think we should not, this is a trope for games, I don't think it applies to a TV series with Grey-and-Gray Morality.

She is not a Big Bad either, that would be He Who Remains. She's just an Anti-Hero who leans too much on Revenge Before Reason, with Nice Job Breaking It, Hero results.

Climax Boss maybe, but frankly even that's a stretch. She's just the last person the protagonist fights.
