This episode features two scenes which allude to the incident with Rhaegar and Lyanna - and a third, which is difficult to mention without it seeming spoilery, since in the show there's so far almost nothing to connect it to the other two scenes. Possible spoilers for the show AND the books: the scene where Stannis discusses John Snow's parentage.

Anyone think it'd be too spoilery to throw it into Belated Backstory?

Well yeah, I mean it works more as Stannis feeling fatherly towards Jon.

I mean yeah the episode clumsily creates backstory on the elephaant in the room, but lets save that entry for Fridge Brilliance by the time Season 6 or 7 rolls by.

Ah, how I hope that it someday becomes relevant in the books, and we finally get to add a gigantic Foreshadowing entry the the book entry.

Personally? I don't think it's ever gonna be even a little bit important. I can HOPE otherwise, but it's not what I expect.

Regarding the scene where Loras is arrested by the Sparrows, and no one comes to his aid. If you look carefully in the wide shot, the Sparrows quickly, and rather menacingly, step in front of everyone who's with Loras, including the knight that he was sparring against. I don't quite think they'd have done so if these people had been tipped off; plus, Loras is a rather popular figure so I find it unlikely that even his squire would betray him.
