Questioning several examples... Monty Python, can the Dead Parrot sketch count where it is one sane man and one insane man? Big Bang Theory, do occasional instances of OSM count? And is it really an OSM just to point out that several friends have wacky past-times/habits? Seems a bit of a stretch. Same goes for Ted in HIMYM, if the others are to be classed as insane he is hardly the exception, he's just the most goody-too-shoes of the lot.
Removed two non-examples for having 'arguably' status (Hamlet and Harry Sullivan in Doctor Who).
Coupling, I wouldn't call Steve an OSM but more a victim of Rant Inducing Slight.

Mulder, in many X Files episodes. Scully herself when Mulder gets too obsessed. Also Spock and Mc Coy in Star Trek, Data in the Next Generation, Leo Mc Garry in the West Wing might also qualify as well as being the voice of reason.
