Man, I seem to recall the original trilogy and Phantom Menace had long entries on this page. I watched the entire series again earlier this year and I found a lot of it to be unwatchable (dialogue and delivery in these movies is generally awful) yet not a single folder for any of the first four films here. Makes it seem like a fan of the original trilogy didn't want a single bad word uttered about them...

Why was the section deleted? There's no shortage of narm in this movie.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Narm is about moments that are supposed to be dramatic, but fail at doing so and therefore become funny. Failed attempts at jokes, similarities to other works, complaints, and things simply falling flat without any resulting unintended humor do not go here. Many prior misuses were removed per Star Wars Cleanup. Please not add back examples that were previously deleted without going to Discussion first.

In The Rise of Skywalker-section, the stormtrooper doesn't actually say "cool" at the Knights of Ren, he says "ghouls", which suggests a completely opposite emotion. Of course the rather poor sound editing of the scene makes it hard to tell, so the Narm stands, but that should probably be amended.

Someone re-added this on April 3 and I re-deleted it per prior cleanup discussion that this isn't an example, which was based on our belief that the line was "Cool" and thus an intentionally rather than unintentionally funny line.

... and then I watched the us Blu-Ray release. Line was subtitled as "ghouls". I don't know what a Mondregreen means in relation to Narm.

Would it be fair to add Darth Maul's death scene? I know that it was removed before, but I'm kind of confused for as to why because the way he spins in midair as he falls and how his legs bounce off of the walls of the chamber look pretty hilarious to me, along with it being the death of a treated-as-major villain that is certainly meant to be dramatic. Just a thought, what do you guys think?

I would say that the "Rey Skywalker" thing at the end count. It's probably meant to show that Rey finally has found her place in the world, or that she chooses the Skywalkers as her Family of Choice, but considered how little time she's spent with Luke (probably only a day or two in-universe), did not really have the best relationship with him during those days, and that Leia, despite technically being a Skywalker, is called "Organa" at nearly every occasion (including in Rise of Skywalker itself, where they call for "General Organa" a few times) makes it seem rather strange and silly.

The choice of Skywalker vs Organa is something that got noted by Mister Apes-a-lot as Fridge Logic over in the cleanup thread rather than Narm. Since the moment has landed as silly for you and some of the meme makers, it might fit more with Narm Charm considering how many people found it genuinely heartwarming, reflective of the peace Rey has found and what the family means to her. I am not opposed to including it as Narm or Narm Charm if the explanation is about the reaction to the moment and not about the Fridge Logic around why would Rey choose that name.

What do other folks think?

Since the page is locked for edit:

"Indeed, being such a odd translation choice, many Spaniard viewers were led to this confusion and wondered why was he referred to as General Pryde at some scenes and General Leal at others."

It should be "such an odd".

Anyone gonna add the “maclunkey” line from Disney +?

^ I say no. When it comes to Narm, the-less-the-better.

Does anyone else feel that the Narm entries for Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens should be moved to separate pages for those films?

  • Kylo Ren wangsting over Vader's melted helmet because of "the pull of the light" was probably meant to be dramatic, but for a lot of viewers his so-called conflict is so flimsy and ill-defined, not to mention not supported by everything else he does, as to make the scene (and by extension his whole character as a Darth Vader Clone) pure unadulterated Narm.

This is just complaining about a scene that you don't like. That is not what narm is. Narm is unintentionally hilarious moments. Just saying that "it's confusing, therefore Narm" does not justify it.

"One word: TRAITOR! Just the idea of a Stormtrooper, originally one of the most incompetent Mooks in film history, attempting to do something badass is beyond hilarious."

That actually sounds closer to awesome or funny than narm. Am I alone on this one?

So am I the only one that thinks this page is soapbox for people to whine about the prequels?

You know what really funny?

Fact that people whine here more than any characters in SW.

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
