Should Land of Fans and Music be on here, since it's under the same "label" as Homestuck for the Holidays and the music team did some of it?
Hide / Show RepliesI've thought about this a bit, and I figure we can add it to the Fanfic section; I've never heard of it being done, but it fits well enough. The problem is in listing it as Andrew has pretty much come down on it not being official. Let me put it one way. Andrew immediately linked Holidays when it was made, but it's been a week with no official word (to my knowledge, I'm not keeping up with the forums, formspring, twitter feeds, etc) acknowledging it. For that reason, we can't put it here, even though I personally think it probably should be.
I'm adding it temporarily to the Fanfic section, but if someone wants to make a seperate page, I think that would work equally well.
Edited by KatanaAndrew hasn't 'come down on it as being not official', but he hasn't made any mention of the album at all. However, it is on the same bandcamp account as Homestuck for The Holidays, AND it includes several songs made by official music team members. I think this is reason enough to include it on the Homestuck music page.
Andrew rather pointedly never mentioned it; Holidays was linked to in a news post immediately. It's a matter of drawing a line where we can say "This is what is official" because there is a HUGE amount of fan music, and linking it here would not be the correct thing to do.
Similarly with Radiation's Baby album, just because it's fan music and in an album does not make it official. The reason it's on the account is because the person behind the fanmusic album specifically asked the guy who ran the account if it was okay. Andrew and What Pumpkin never cleared it because they don't control that account.
Edited by KatanaWhat about songs that haven't been released in album yet but have been in the comic? (Green Sun, Black Rose; Warhammer of Zillyhoo; Secret ROM; etc.) Should we make a new folder for those?
Hide / Show RepliesMost of these have been released in Volume 7 now. I think we should just wait for the music to come out officially.
Some of the music has been in the comic without ever being added to an album for over a year, so adding a folder for unreleased music would be a good idea. (The Crowning Music of Awesome page has a subsection like that, I don't see why this page shouldn't.) It's a convenient way to index everything before the albums come out, too.
Probably Musicians, under Alternative/Indie. The thing is it's not a trope page, just a listing, so that makes any indexing a bit iffy.
Should I add little notes to songs saying what they are Leitmotifs for?
Hide / Show RepliesProbably not, considering how many of the songs are meant to represent something specific, and how few of those have actually been used in the comic at all, nevermind as a leitmotif.
Should "Hidden Track" be on here for the ending of Frustracean, which has a Nic Cage clip after about 2:30 minutes of silence?
