Looking back at my watchlist, came back across this, and now I wish to say:

Should this trope be split into when characters look the same due to limitations (time, technology, etc) as opposed to when there is a plot-relevant reason for it? (Clone Troopers and such)

That would probably just be a justified example. And chances are it's at least partially rooted in the same limitations.

I was looking for this page with some difficulty, and one of the things I thought it could be called was "CC NPC", Carbon Copy Non Player character. I know it's meant to call to You Look Familiar, but the current title seems lacking.

Also I have absolutely no idea if what I'm saying is acceptable or going through hypothetically proper channels.

It's a line of dialogue title. That's why it's problematic.

Does anyone else think this is worth a Trope Repair Shop?

I am torn. On the one hand, line of dialogue titles are bad. On the other hand, the name does sort of indicate what the trope is about. My call would be to run a Wick Check and see if there is any misuse.

Not sure if It counts but there is an moment in Dead Space were you find a woman laughing (and insane) next to a identical (dead) copy of herself. the effect is quite disturbing.
