There's arguably a type three, but I can only think of two examples:
3. In an alternate universe where the character doesn't exist, their parents have a pet of the same name which one of them treats as a surrogate child.
- In the Doctor Who episode "Age of Steel", "Pete's World" Jackie has a dog called Rose.
- In the It's a Wonderful Plot episode of Sorry!, Mrs Lumsden in the world where Timothy was never born has a dog called Timothy.
Any other examples?

I'd like to nominate this page for a rename, or at the very least an alt-title to reflect an earlier use of the trope: Indiana Jones, real name Henry Jones Jr.
Be careful what you wish for, 'cause you might just get it all... Hide / Show Repliesgenkracken: Seconded. I'll add the redirect. (Who can forget Sean Connery's immortal line, "We named the DOG Indiana!")
Take it to the Trope Repair Shop then. That's where these things are discussed.
