This seems actually just as prevalent if not moreso with males getting stood up, paticularily in romances to show just how much of a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing the False Romantic Lead really was.
Hide / Show RepliesIn the comic Fur Piled, it's a guy who's stood up by his date. And pulling the Prank Date on boys also happens.
And why just a date? Simply Panda Jenn has one where two bears are going house-hunting, but the male loses track of time (a Type 4). It starts here.
What about when both parties sit around thinking the other has stood them up due to a misunderstanding or other? (This may be related to the type mentioned in the archived discussion, not being familiar with those works)
The list of different types of this trope have been taken out of the description, but most of the examples still refer to these types by number. Almost all of the examples need to be rewritten.
