The editors of this page have been conflating the sayings of "fictional" Americans and the sayings of actual Americans. That is, someone will put up something fictional Americans of a certain strain say, and someone will respond as if that is what actual Americans of that strain say.

I'm American; I know what Americans say; I want to know what other people think we say.

I agree. It's like a couple years' worth of cheesy quotes that non-Americans assume are in daily use.

Maybe they have a more accurate picture of what we say than we do of what they say. We are one of the greatest exporters of media.
