An entry for Sharpe say "According to the novels, Chosen Man was actually a rank replaced by Corporal in more modern eras.", and considers it Did Not Do The Research. From what I'm finding off Google, the rank Lance Corporal is the modern equivalent to 'chosen men'. I have not read the book, so I would like to know - did that instance in whatever book it was say just "corporal", making it technically incorrect still?
