Would Les Miserables (the book) qualify? The scam that the Thernadiers pull on Fantine seems like a variation of this. While she was paying the family to watch Cosette from the beginning, they keep driving the price of her care up under the pretense that Cosette is violently ill and that the money is needed for her care, when in fact the Thernadiers are keeping it for themselves and treating Cosette like a slave. Fantine is the mark, the Thernadiers are the cons, and Cosette is the princess - even if she isn't getting a cut of the profit.
