I would submit that the article may need to make some finer distinctions, and behaviors listed in it may need to be split up a bit.
The quote at the top of the page is highly descriptive of those who send UCE (Unsolicited Commercial Email) for a living, who have been loathed—for good reason—ever since Canter & Siegel made themselves infamous on Usenet in the early 90s.
However, when I look down the list of examples, I see everything from garden-variety trolls to mindless me-too-ers, who are a relatively harmless variety of Internet window-licker.
