Why all the hate for the razors? Each extra blade represents an achievement in metalworking and logistics (how the hell are you supposed to fit that much metal in a tight enough space to shave with?). And it gives one more small portion of customers a reason to celebrate their shaving time being cut in half (the amount of razors it takes to make a second shave redundant varying for each group of people).
Sure it's not as dramatic as the advertisements suggest, but it's the difference between being on time and being 2 minutes late, or, god forbid, missing your commute. Presumably, that's the point of the advertisements—patting themselves on the back for what is a legitimate increase in customer satisfaction. Or an attempt, any way, and they want to show that they're trying.
