Yeah - is Futurama the trope namer, or was it around before that?
And then everybody died. The end.

I can't cite any sources, but I am CERTAIN it's got to be older.

Thinking you are robot is not being a robot. So this is not an example.
- The Korean film I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay is sortof this. The main character is a girl in an asylum who thinks she is a robot, and a man who believes he can steal people's powers falls in love with her, and tries to find a way to "repair" her so she can be capable of loving him back.
This trope is for mechanical lifeforms, hence this is not a good example.
- Krillin of Dragon Ball Z spares the life of Android 18 since he develops a crush on her in mid-combat. This leads to an extended romance.
- Borderline example. Her name is inaccurate, as she's actually a cyborg, not an android.
Please do not pothole work titles. A quote is not the details we need. Please see How To Write An Example.

Am I the only one REALLY ticked off by this? It makes NO sense in the english language. A <something>sexual is the sexual attraction to <soemthing>, not the <something> being sexually active...
