Does anyone else think that not using some pun on Jones/Clones for the title of this trope was a missed opportunity?
Video Game. Quackshot for the Mega Drive / Genesis. If you didn't guess, Donald Duck stars this one.
Every single trope was copied to the letter, except you are playing with Donald Duck instead. One innovation is that there is a flag halfway on each stage where you save your progress, and further progress is impeded by some Mcguffin you collect at the halfway point of another stage, forcing you to go back and forth.
Being Donald Duck and Disney, you shoot PLUNGERS that paralyze the enemies at first, allowing you to get past them. You also upgrade the plunger, so you can climb walls with them later on. You almost need to watch the movies first, being Genre Savvy helps a lot.
