  • The most unique characteristic of the system was that the games did not come on bulky plastic cartridges but rather on thin Turbo Chips, plastic game cards with connectors clearly visible on the end. These connectors were slightly different in different regions, but their visibility made it much easier for modders, importers and creative types to circumvent any sort of lock. Because of this, imported Japanese games continued to be sold long after the system had been discontinued in North America.

This isn't correct. The import lockout is circumvented on the cartridges by a connector that connects the pins in a different order. Nothing about making such a connector is easier because the connectors are visible, especially considering that all cartridges have connectors on the end. Furthermore, import gaming on the system was most helped by the CD system. C Ds were just compatible.
