Resident Evil 6 is not a post script installment, it is more important to the narrative than 5 and while 5 just deals with Wesker and spencer, 6 actually culminates character arcs. 6 is also heavily tied to the events of 2 and 3.

Simmons and the family are who hired Ada in 2 as well as the organization backing wesker in code veronica, Simmons and family were also the ones who authorized the nuking of Raccoon city. They are the organization but there is a bigger plot point that was hinted at in both 5 and Umbrella chronicles, the government are behind the funding of Umbrella and their bio weapons.

5 is considered more of a grand finale just because the bad guy is finally beaten but just because you beat the bad guy doesn't mean the story is over there is more to a story than the villain you are fighting you need to acknowledge the characters struggles and the ideas the franchises explores, 6 does this way more than 5 does.

I'm wondering if this can be considered a subjective trope or not. There may be a few fans out there who like the post script seasons of shows despite their glaring flaws.

On the other hand, it IS an actual fact that shows have been renewed for another season even though the creators already wrapped up everything they wanted to wrap up. It's the reaction to the Post Script Seasons, not the Post Script Seasons themselves, that's subjective.

I thought that the trope was merely referring to shows that have a Post-Script Season, rather than the quality of it?

So I tried to point out the flaws in Mako's character... then I was crucified

I think we should take out the entry for Angel The Series. The fifth season was clearly foreshadowed at the end of season 4 and wrapped up Angel's conflict with Wolfram and Hart, which had been building throughout the series. It doesn't fit any of the characteristics of a Post-Script Season save the fact that it changed the format, which makes it a Retool.

Regarding the first Literature example set:

So Let Me Get This Straight...: Instead of "tedious memorization and boring Drills," people are now learning a dead language by way of a Scrapbook Story? Or a bunch of Epigraphs from a Scrapbook Story?

Edited by DonaldthePotholer Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.
