I guess this is a subrope of The AI is a Cheating Bastard? Or possibly a supertrope? Or maybe they're both the same thing and somebody shouldlook into merging the two, because I can't see any difference.

I was about to second this question, but then I realized that this that The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard is more about the computer side having any kind of unfair advantage, where as this is about the AI breaking specifically laid out rules. I think the problem with The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard is that the name implies this trope, but that one isn't just about breaking explicit rules. I think Rules Are For Humans should definitely be merged into this page because it's just a The Same But More Specific version of this trope.
