I like the twist on the meaning from "getting money for doing nothing" to "having money that is worth nothing." Since the song was about how you get money for doing things that "aint working" such as banging on bongos like a chimpanzee the conecept that you might work hard or not but then have nothing to spend your cash on is a good spin. Do you have money? Yes, I have money. What are you going to spend it on? Nothing, there is nothing to spend it on. I have money for nothing!
