Can anyone confirm my vague recollection that Grand Theft Auto V switches you to super-slow-mo in the weapon select screen rather than pausing completely?

There's a lot of games that avert or even invert this trope. Why this "real time menu" or "non-stop menu" doesn't have his own trope?

There are quite a few games that avert this trope, especially recent survival horror titles, so I think it would probably be a good idea to divide this page into two sections: straight examples and aversions/subversions.

Well let's see, all games fulfill one of those conditions. It doesn't seem particularly like this is an Omnipresent Trope where aversions would be notable. I think we're better off in the "wait and see if any of the aversions are particular interesting and then maybe include them as normal" mode.

edit- Maybe it's Omnipresent Tropes.
